Transfer from Lençóis to Guiné
On the first day, we will leave Lençóis at 6:30 AM, driving for about two hours on paved and dirt roads until we reach the village of Guiné, where the trail begins. Note: we will stop for breakfast and to buy water along the way.

Aleixo climb to Gerais do Rio Preto
We will start the trekking on the most demanding section of the first day: a continuous zigzag climb up the Aleixo slope to the plateau. Up there, the landscape opens into Gerais do Rio Preto, rocky fields, wind, and a flat horizon.
35 to 50-minute climb... exposed to the sun, no shade in the middle of the stretch. Carry at least 2 liters of water. We will walk about 03 hours from the start of the trail to the traditional Mirante do Pati.

Mirante do Pati
The first view of the entire valley from above. We stop for as long as the group wants, it is here that most understand why they came. We will have our first snack with this view. After the snack, we will walk 1 hour and 30 minutes towards the waterfalls deep in the valley.

For safety reasons, please follow your guide's instructions. Pay close attention during the descent from the viewpoint after your snack.

Arrival at Igrejinha.
Support pause: brief stop at the little church for the bathroom, to buy drinks like a Coca‑Cola, visit the church and then head to the waterfalls. 10‑minute break.
The church served the local community that worked the coffee plantations; besides the church the valley also has a school and a town hall.

The church only makes one of its restrooms available to the public who are not staying there. Please be brief!
Waterfalls
Altina Waterfall, Funnel Waterfall and Banana‑tree Waterfall. One waterfall for swimming and two waterfalls for viewing. A cold, refreshing pool to stay in until the sun sets. End of day 1.

Every care and attention is important when entering the riverbed, follow the guide's instructions.
We finished the day by floating downstream right after the last waterfall toward our first night’s camp.
The path is literally inside the riverbed. By jumping from stone to stone, we will reach Pati do Meio, where there is a concentration of guesthouses. This is where we will have dinner and sleep, preparing for the second day. Dinner is served at 7:00 PM and breakfast at 7:00 AM by the locals.

Accommodation is assigned according to availability in native families’ houses in Vale do Pati and is subject to demand. Rooms are bunk‑bed style with the possibility of couples sharing. Single travelers are placed in rooms by gender. Each house usually has four bathrooms. Respect the families’ rules and customs.

Breakfast at the lodging
Breakfast is very varied, always with fruit, fresh juices, cakes, pizza‑bread, fried banana, eggs, cheese bread, rain‑drop cake, hot coffee and much more!

Pay attention to the schedules.
Morro do Castelo
We leave the large backpacks at a support guesthouse along the way and continue light to the base of the hill. 1h30 climb
Take only water, your phone, personal snacks, a raincoat or a windbreaker in your daypack for the climb to Morro do Castelo. The rest of your gear stays stored and you will get it back in the afternoon.
Attention at Morro do Castelo: As it is a natural environment with difficult access, follow the guide's instructions and always stay with the group. On cloudy or rainy days, the ascent may be delayed until 10 am, depending on visibility conditions.
Attention: The snack may be taken on the top of Morro do Castelo or on the way back, depending on the conditions at the time and the group's preference.

Top of the Morro do Castelo and the two viewpoints
After about 1h30 of climbing, we will reach two viewpoints with panoramic views of Vale do Pati in opposite directions, revealing the grandeur of the landscape and allowing you to better understand the valley's geography. Along the way, we will pass in front of Gruta da Lapinha, currently closed for safety reasons. At the end, we will return along the same trail towards the second accommodation.

Day 2 Summary: Morro do Castelo. Climb to Morro do Castelo. After the descent, we will take a break to swim and rest by the river. Then, we will return to the first accommodation to pick up our luggage and head to the second local house, where we will spend our last night.
Note: the snack may be served on top of the Morro do Castelo or when we return to the riverbed, as mentioned in the tab above.

We finish the day arriving at the second accommodation
After the break at the river, we will take a short walk to the second accommodation, which is determined based on availability and route logistics, prioritizing houses near the Fenda da Prefeitura, our exit route for the following day.
Attention: The rules follow the same pattern as the first accommodation. Consult the previous guidelines and respect the meal times (dinner at 19h and breakfast at 7h), silence after 22h, and the coexistence rules of each house.

Breakfast and packing your backpack
Longest day of the crossing, 18 km. Early departure after breakfast, we will hike for about 3h30 alternating between climbs and plateaus. After climbing the Prefeitura rift, we will head towards the Cachoeirão valley.
Check your personal items so you don't leave anything behind at the guesthouse.
Fill your water bottle, it is extremely important to have water for the climb.
Climbing the Fenda da Prefeitura
We will hike up for about 1h50 to the top of the crack, and another 1h30 across the plateau to the Cachoeirão. We will pass by two viewpoints with panoramic views of Morro do Castelo, Morro Branco, and the entire valley scenery from a different angle. This is a narrow passage between rock walls with a climb on natural steps. This section requires both hands free.
On rainy days the rock in the crack becomes slippery. The guide will decide on the spot whether to take this route or the alternative one.
We will climb respecting the pace and limits of each person in the group, with technical breaks to breathe and drink water. We will pass through cliff areas, where care and attention are extremely important.

Mirante da fenda da Prefeitura
Upon reaching the top, we stop to rest and take photos, celebrating the achievement and reliving the emotion of every challenge overcome. But the adventure is not over yet: we will continue towards Cachoeirão, where new landscapes and emotions await us.
After the climb, it is necessary to use sunscreen, as the vegetation is shorter on the way to Cachoeirão and there is no shade. Note: In case of physical needs, communicate with your guide. Stay with the guide and the group.

Follow the guide's instructions, respect your limits, respect others, and respect the place.
Cachoeirão Lookout: swimming and snack
After the hike from the crevice, we will arrive at Cachoeirão to contemplate it from two different viewpoints. After the viewpoints, we will walk for 5 minutes to the snack spot, known as (matinha). There, we will refresh ourselves in super cold water and have a snack so we can continue the last day of the Trekking.
Respect the guide's instructions, respect your own limits and the limits established as safety procedures, and respect the people and the place. We will be facing a 280 m free-fall cliff.

Attention: The scenery of Cachoeirão varies according to the time of year and rainfall. During rainy periods, we can observe more than 30 waterfalls; in dry seasons, only the main fall remains. This happens because the waters forming the waterfalls depend on rain, which flows down the slopes and concentrates on the cliff wall.

Trekking conclusion.
After finishing our snack, we will continue the hike for another 3h00 on a plateau until we reach the parking lot. After Cachoeirão, we will pass through the Gerais and cross the Rio Preto.
It is extremely important to use sunscreen, as the vegetation is low and we face frequent sun until we reach the car. We also refill our water at a strategic point.

From Cachoeirão to the parking lot, we will take 3 technical breaks to catch our breath and drink some water.

When descending Aleixo, attention and care are necessary, just like throughout the entire trekking. There are loose stones on the path, so descend slowly!

The return to Lençóis takes 2 hours on the road, the same road we came from. We will make a stop for food and restrooms along the way.
