of sediment under your boots, around 400 times older than the first dinosaurs. Chapada is an ancient ocean floor, lifted into a plateau and carved by rivers.

Those rivers brought the diamond rush here in 1844, and with it the miners who opened the trails we walk with you today.

Walking here means crossing layer after layer: sandstone, quartz, river gravel, family memory.

A miner's grandson, guiding on his grandfather's river

João Felipe, known as "Mogli", is the grandson of João Duarte, "João da Gia", a real diamond miner. He grew up running free along the rivers here, climbing mango and jackfruit trees. Today his refuge is the same mountains where his grandfather searched for diamonds.

Henrique

Born and raised in Lençóis, he has been a mountain guide since his teens. The son of a musician, art has always been part of his path. Psy Trekking was born as a way to express and expand that journey.

Safety and logistics

Moderate to challenging. Expect 10 to 18 km a day with a backpack, long climbs and stretches in full sun. No technical experience needed, just the fitness to walk several days in a row.

Lodging, transfers, meals and guide are included on every trek. No extra fees later.

A 30 to 50 liter backpack, light clothes, a light jacket, rain cover, swimwear, boots or sneakers, flip-flops, sunscreen, insect repellent, toiletries, personal medication, headlamp, quick-dry towel, water bottle, light snacks, cash, a trash bag and a power bank.
